Most Americans don't even know what team handball is, so I'll help you out here. It's played on a basketball sized court with small sized goals. The ball is the same size as a mini soccer ball. There is a basketball-like "key" around the goal, but only the goalkeeper is allowed in there. The rest is easy to understand....SCORE as often as possible!
Handball is an incredibly popular sport here, right behind ski sports and soccer. I have no stats to prove this, but just go with it. :)
If you just can't picture it in your head, here's some videos showing the Norwegian womens' national team, gold medalists from Beijing. (Olympics? you ask...yes, it's been an Olympic sport since 1972!)

So Collin only made it to one practice before the tournament this past weekend....one week we missed due to being sick, and the first week we missed due to a Mommy-didn't-read-the-information-right-error. And the day before the tourney, he got strep throat, but still wanted to play, so off to our local sports hall we went. They played three games, all of which were played against kids who were 1 to 2 years older. The first game was spent getting their bearings and trying to figure out where to run and where to stand on defence, but they were out to impress and did just that.....
Tournament record 2-0-1. Not bad for first-timers!
Check out the action here:
Collin is #7 in the black pants(skipping during the beginning of the video)....not to be confused with the other #7 on his team. :)
